Help your students discover how reading and writing poetry can be a mind-blowing experience.In this workshop you will receive practical activities and strategies for teaching poetry that you will be able to apply in your own classrooms. In addition, you will be introduced to the Poetry Out Loud National Recitation Contest as a powerful tool for the promotion of poetry and how to conduct a successful contest in your school.
Presenter: This workshop will be presented by Jill Pinard, President of the New Hampshire Council of Teachers of English and member of New Hampshire’s Poetry Out Loud Advisory Board.
Location: John Stark Regional High School, 618 North Stark Highway in Weare, New Hampshire
Time: 4:00-5:15
Cost: Free for NHCTE members and $15.00* for non-members, which includes membership.
